My Formula 1 – Austin Grand Prix 2024 Experience

I went to Austin for the Formula 1 racing at the Austin Grand Prix.

It was one of my first races, at least one that I remember, don’t think I ever did any as a kid. The event was a blast, since it was not only a regular race weekend but also a Sprint weekend. It meant more racing from the Formula 1 cars. On top of that, there were support races including the Porsche Carrera Cup.

The best part of the weekend was outside of the race. I got to spend time with longtime friend Kyle, my other friend Kory, and Kyle’s friend Steven. It was great to have a disconnected weekend, enjoying lots of smoked meat, exploring downtown Austin, and listening to some live music.

The F1 race on Sunday was exciting to watch. Max Verstappen had a great race and finished in 3rd, even though it was due to a 5-second penalty. He definitely made the race a nail-biter.
