New Found Love: Business Mentoring

At the start of 2024, I was invited to be a mentor within the Geekdom Mentor network.

What is Geekdom?

Geekdom is a community-driven coworking space that empowers entrepreneurs through collaboration and community. They offer programs like Startup Bootcamp, helping people turn ideas into businesses with support from mentors, workshops, and other programming. It’s a space I have grown to love and enjoy the networking. Being a business owner is lonely, but with the space, you quickly find a network of like-minded individuals going through similar business successes and struggles. Plus, unlike other coworking spaces, the community is central to the experience and makes it more than a boring office.

With the mentoring, not only am I helping entrepreneurs, but I have also met many new friends and business owners with whom I can bounce ideas. It’s a great way to generate business too, as people offer referrals. In the end, we all have to make money and this is one of the best ways to drum up business. It’s a fulfilling way to generate new leads.

While the leads are a big bonus, I genuinely enjoy giving back to fellow entrepreneurs. There’s something incredibly fulfilling about supporting others, whether through sharing my experiences or providing actionable marketing insights. I enjoy discussing business strategies and helping others navigate the challenges of growing their businesses. Watching people succeed after offering guidance also feels like a win for me. It’s not just about business—it’s about building connections, giving back, and creating a community of thriving entrepreneurs.
